SCA is staffed by professionals who have represented Fortune 500 companies and start-ups.

 Stephen C. Cooper, Managing Director
steve@scacommunications.com

A skilled and creative marketing professional,

he…

  • Has guided companies through the maze of communications confusion to focus only on projects that will gain the best rate of return.
  • Is known for producing results within budget and on time, regardless of the deadline.
  • Is adept at developing and constructing programs with fresh ideas that assist companies to reach sales goals, secure and strength market position, introduce new products and create a ‘value added’ image.

As Senior Vice President of G+A Communications, a mid-sized, New York City public relations firm, he developed and wrote programs and news stories that described the use of Phillips Chemical’s plastics. He also handled crisis communications for major plant outages and rebuilding efforts.

Steve has also had the pleasure of working with Advanced Drainage Systems, ConocoPhillips, CPChem, ExxonMobil’s Santoprene brand products, Phillips Driscopipe, plus many others, large and small. Steve is at home promoting products that have ranged from engineering thermoplastics, a new light bulb and medical equipment to pipe used in drainage systems for major highways and airports and new types of food packaging.

His pursuit of the proper news story has seen him visit customers and plants in Mexico, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland, as well as throughout the United States. It’s typical for Steve to take a simple news item and turn it into a major feature article in a publication that is key to the client’s marketing program.

And by art directing the on-site photography, he’s been able to grab the brass ring…front cover product placement.

Media interviews during trade shows and press tours are among Steve’s specialties. One tour spanned three cities that brought editors together with his clients on an overnight journey in a private, deluxe railroad train.

He has also served as advertising and public relations manager for high technology and engineering companies and was the marketing manager for a division of Fairchild Camera and Instrument.

At Polar, manufacturer of highly-regarded heart rate monitors, he was responsible for the marketing and communications programs of the B2B division.

Steve is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) and serves on the Board of Advisors for his undergraduate chapter, Xi-Gamma, at the New York Institute of Technology.
